What To Expect
A typical PRP joint injection visit lasts about 1 to 2 hours. In some cases, the procedure may occur on the same day as your evaluation; however, depending on your health status, the evaluation may be scheduled as a separate appointment. PRP joint injections are not appropriate for everyone, and your safety and the potential benefits of the procedure are always our top priorities. During the procedure, a simple lab draw will be performed, and your blood will be processed aseptically to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. Superficial numbing is used in most procedures to minimize discomfort during the injection process. It is generally considered a low-risk procedure but as with any injection results may vary and our provider will be sure to discuss risks and benefits before you decide to move forward.
