“Health” “Care”

A man, examining a bottle of medication

I call it “health” “care”…

… and the scare quotes tell you everything. Because, while modern healthcare brings many blessings, it unfortunately is very often neither focused on your health nor delivered with special care.

Medical providers and organizations have a great deal of power to affect a person’s and their family’s well being, for good or bad, even for generations. That power needs to be reigned in and focused by an absolute commitment to promoting wellness and to doing so in a caring manner. Doing this right takes sound morals and ethics. It takes being a humble learner, a student of God’s creation, especially human life. It takes having both courage and wisdom. It takes listening, watching, and rethinking. It takes professionalism and friendliness. It takes respecting the limits of science, medicine, and human efforts, while still laboring to do what we can to discover, support, and bless people.

Healthcare should be about your health. It should be about care and carefulness. And it should bless your generations.
